Increasing Enrollment

New first-year students gather at the Clock Tower during a summer orientation session.

Frostburg State University has a long-standing tradition of helping young people who are first-generation college students and/or in need of financial assistance to achieve their dreams of a higher education. You may have been one of these students.

College enrollment is declining nationwide due to fewer students opting for four-year degree programs and the pandemic adding to additional financial challenges for prospective students and their families. Your gift to the Forging Futures campaign can help FSU increase its enrollment by supporting scholarship opportunities. More scholarships and tuition assistance will encourage more college applicants.

In 2020, the FSU Foundation awarded 840 need-based and merit scholarships, including athletic scholarships, and grants to 507 students totaling over $900,000. We anticipate the need for assistance to grow.

Enrollment is the most critical factor in the financial stability of FSU. You can help strengthen the University, while giving worthy students the life-changing gift of a college education. Our alumni and friends can also help by recommending FSU to potential students of all ages and all levels of education.
